Giraffe Underground Magazine

There is a magazine here in Redlands called the Giraffe Underground lit mag. They are low on photo submissions this deadline and they are hungry to publish creative student work. The editor sent me this blurb to pass on:

We take photos, visuals, diagrams, whatever, as well as nonfiction, fiction, poetry, etc. The deadline for the next issue is October 10th, and the theme is Bullshit. Seriously.I'd advise anyone that's thinking about submitting to email us sometime at youmustsubmit@gmail.com to get more info and get on our mailing list so we can send reminders. Send us awesome photos! The more the better!

As you may have guessed, the above picture has absolutely nothing to do with this, but it's a shot I took of my friend Jeff and I thought it might get your attention.

Yes it's from a video game... yes you can adjust aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. Just thought it fit the theme.

let's be LOUD!!!

Photos Speak LOUDer than Words

50 mm, 1/60", F 5.6, ISO 100

70mm, 1/400", F5.6, ISO 100

Loud (sort of) (again)

55mm, 1/80, f/5.6, ISO 1600 So i decided to add a second photo to see which one you guys liked better...

Loud (sort of)

55mm, 1/80, f/5.6, ISO 1600
so i think this might actually be really quiet, but it was as close as i got to something loud this week (it's noise/music if that counts...) The only thing is I used way to high an ISO, but i couldn't reduce the noise because it lost all the definition in his hand. :(

Loud

Sorry this is another older photo. I'm still figuring out the whole time management thing. This is another one from Costa Rica. The colors are loud. Also it seems kinda like the flower is yelling.

T-Shirt Revision #3, Indecision #486

Alright kids, here's another iteration of our shirt design. I made the title block smaller and moved it farther away from the drawing. The last thing we need to decide is exactly how far away we want it from the drawing.

Loud: Hurricane Ives

Techno: Loud as Hell

18 mm, 1/50", f/3.5, ISO 1600

Finally, I can return to taking pictures. Now with four times as much ISO!

Fractions less than one.

Sorry these are so late! Life's been crazy as you all know.

I see fractions in three ways in these pictures.
1. I used a fraction of the light that would make the image fully lit.
2. The flowers in the pictures are a fraction of the bouquet.
3. These flowers are not fully open; they are a fraction through their life.
